ARTWORK STATEMENT: Among the rivers and tidal creeks, the Papa T can be sighted bringing in its precious local wild catch. Choosing to paint this shrimp boat was a given for me as the boat was named after my grandfather Toby and is captained by my cousin...."Oh Captain, my Captain". I was mostly engaged with creating the glow in the sky, the water and the reflections. The warmth of the painting was further enhanced from its inception by toning my canvas with a golden base.
