ARTWORK STATEMENT: “Letting Go” is a piece that can be thought of in a few ways. The title suggests "letting go" of the things that we all hold onto like the red balloon that she has released into the air. The piece can also be viewed in terms of dreams and hopes. The red balloon is a dream, or wish, she is letting go to the universe in a way to open up to the possibilities that it presents. Through both interpretations she also remains grounded both figuratively and literally and the green balloon represents that grounding she is holding onto.
