Well it’s finally time again to change out our work at “What’s the Scoop.” Friday, May 11 is the change out date. The time to drop off and pick up work you have hanging now in Scoops is 1:30 to 3:PM. We will be hanging the work after 3 ‘clock, so please see that you are there before 3 p.m. and have everything ready according to the guidelines below.

I have attached the labels and release form for you to fill out and attach to the front of you work. Just one label is all we need. The space is limited so please only bring 2 pieces of work till we know for sure we have enough for everyone to be represented.

If you can not make the time and date please make arrangements with another member of AOC to possibly bring in your work in or pick it up.

If you don’t have a problem having your work hang out in the hall outside of Scoops you may bring another piece and specify that it is to be hung out in the lobby.

Anyone interested in staying and helping hang will be my hero and greatly appreciated.

Another reminder will be sent on Tuesday, May 8 so please mark your calendars May 11, 1:30 to 3:PM change out at “What’s the Scoop.”
Thanks to you all for the great work you all do for AOC.

Today is the day when artists from all over ‘the coast’ deliver their best art pieces to the Speir-Brogden Building at Crossroads Center in Richmond Hill, GA for this weekend’s forthcoming Spring Arts Exhibit presented by Arts On The Coast.

“We are really excited about this show,” said Jim Leahy, owner of Leahy Art Gallery in Richmond Hill, GA and a charter member of Arts On The Coast. “We have two art shows each year, one in the spring and one in the fall. With each show, it just gets better.”

“AOC is an art association that takes care of the artist through groups of artists. Savannah has a few nice art associations, but we needed one south of Savannah. AOC is relatively young. It’s only 7 years old. The Arts On The Coast is an umbrella for all the arts — theatre, culinary, dance, drama, painting, sculpture and photographers.”

Leahy was featured on WTOC-TV Thursday morning. Watch The Video.

The Spring Art Exhibit is open and free to the public. Everyone is encouraged to specifically attend the Artists Reception on Saturday, May 5 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Exhibiting artists will be on hand to meet and greet guests and show goers.

Exhibit Hours:
Friday, May 4, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Saturday, May 5, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Saturday, May 5, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Artist Reception)
Sunday, May 6, 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM

Here is the up to date information on What’s The Scoop. The Visual Arts Group will be changing the art work out the second Monday every 2 months. So the date of our next hanging will be May 14th, then followed by, July 9, September 10, November 12th, and January 14th. Please mark your calendars. We will be sending out e-mails reminding everyone of the change out at least a week before. This is a great opportunity for us to show our work locally, and with our Spring Show May 4-5th across from ‘What’s the Scoop’ that will give us even more exposure.

The work can be dropped off any time between 1.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. If you can not make it at that time make arrangements for someone else drop it off for you. Or, contact Bobbi Wilson and she can help you work something out. Feel free to call her as well at 561-445-5887.

We will hang the work that afternoon starting around 3.00 p.m. depending on how many customers they have in the restaurant at the time. All work needs to be ready to hang and have the wire on the back. It must be professional looking and of proper G rated subject matter. To start with we are only asking you to bring 2 pieces of work each because the space is more limited now from what we had before.

Please fill out an ‘Artist Information Tab’ and attach it to the front of their work, along with a signed release form which I will have available when you drop off your work.

Thanks so much and see you all on May 14th.

You must be an Arts on the Coast member to exhibit in Scoop.

You may bring up to 3 pieces, no larger that 30″ x 40″, ready to hang with wires on back. All canvases should be framed or gallery wrap. Please make sure all work is labeled. You will need to sign a release form if you have not exhibited at “Scoop” in the past.

Several artists sold work this past time during the “Small Works” exhibit! Congratulations! We are getting noticed! Please remember that 10% of all sales goes to Andy & Jennifer Foley, the owners.

Visual Arts Meeting
