Everyone is encouraged to print copies for use and placement in various locations.  Please help spread the word about our Picnic and hope many of you will be able to attend. Should you have specific questions regarding the Picnic, please contact Claudia Christiansen, Event Chairman, at 727-4898.

Here is additional information about the Family Picnic:

• We have use of the park from 9 am to 9 pm
• Need members to arrive before picnic time to help set up and stay afterward to help clean up
• Need members to help by donating a prize for the table decorating contest
• Visual Artists are asked to bring one piece of artwork to display
• A representative from each of the AOC groups (music, visual artists, dance, drama, culinary, membership and hospitality) are asked to set up a small display for the event.  If you are a chairman, please coordinate your group’s display. If you’re interested in participating please contact the committee chairman or Claudia Christiansen
• Please contact Family Picnic Chairman, Claudia Christiansen at 727-4898 if you have questions, or to let her know about your group’s participation, and the time(s) you are available to volunteer

AOC Picnic 2011 Flyer

We will be changing out the work at “What’s the Scoop” on Monday, February 21, 2011.  Please drop off work between 9:00 am and 10:00 am that morning.  If you can’t be there at that time, please arrange for another AOC member to drop it off for you.

You must be an Arts on the Coast member to exhibit in Scoop.

You may bring up to 3 pieces, no larger that 30″ x 40″, ready to hang with wires on back.  All canvases should be framed or gallery wrap.  Please make sure all work is labeled.  You will need to sign a release form if you have not exhibited at “Scoop” in the past.

Several artists sold work this past time during the “Small Works” exhibit! Congratulations! We are getting noticed! Please remember that 10% of all sales goes to Andy & Jennifer Foley, the owners.

Visual Arts Meeting

There will be a visual arts meeting at the RH Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. It is very important the as many visual artists attend as possible, because we will be planning the calendar for this year’s events.  We will be needing people to sign up for committees, and want to hear all of your ideas!

The exhibit opened November 29, 2010, and will remain up through the end of the year. It can be seen during regular restaurant hours.

“What’s the Scoop” has been graciously hosting AOC’s visual artists since January of 2009. Artwork is changed every 2 months, allowing the restaurant patrons enjoy an artistic atmosphere while having breakfast or lunch.

SAVANNAH, GA – Savannah Music Festival (SMF) announces the lineup for its 2011 season, an expansive city-wide, multi-venue program showcasing a wide array of internationally acclaimed artists in over one hundred productions. Held annually in historic downtown Savannah, this 22nd season of Georgia’s largest festival – described by The Times of London as “one of the best events around the world”- features two premieres, numerous festival debuts, and the return of several audience favorites from the realms of classical, jazz, Americana and world music. In addition to a wealth of concert programming, SMF gives attendees a chance to hit the dance floor with four dance parties – Cuban, Cajun, Funk, and Zydeco music – scheduled throughout the festival.

The 2010 Fall Exhibit will be judged by Dr. Tom Cato, the Department Head of Art, Music and Theatre at Armstrong Atlantic State University. Dr. Cato has a Doctorate degree in Education from the University of Georgia (1997), a Master’s in Education in Administration and Supervision from Valdosta State College (1977) and a B.F.A in Painting and Drawing from Valdosta State College (1973). Currently, as the Chair of the Art, Music and Theatre department, he teaches art education and computer art courses. He is a member of the National Art Education Association, Georgia Art Education Association, the National Association of Schools of Music and the Georgia Coalition for the Arts.

All artists are reminded that you need to drop off your artwork on Wednesday, November 10 at the Richmond Hill City Center between 2 and 5 o’clock. If any artist has narrowed down their selections (max of 3), please e-mail, in advance the:
